Our story
We are passionate about creating retirement communities where hospitality, support, and kindness are at the heart of everything we do.
What does 'home' mean to you?
Our purpose
Retirement Communities are not really about the buildings, great retirement communities are about the people, the culture and the service within them. At Untold we are focused on creating well designed affordable senior housing developments that foster a sense of security, connection, community and wellbeing.
Integrated Retirement Communities (IRC's) are an option for people who may find living at home increasingly problematic, whether it’s for themselves, or a partner. Our communities are designed for people who enjoy socialising, but who also cherish privacy behind their own front door. Our communities are for people who are open to the benefits of modern technologies, but who don’t want to see the technology hanging on every wall, and our communities are for people who understand there is an element of happiness, peace of mind and fulfilment, that comes from belonging to a community where everyone looks out for everyone else.
The care and support offer brings meaningful peace of mind for those that need it, and our in-house CQC registered team can provide a spectrum of care ranging from light touch ‘only when I need it’ support, through to more intensive daily needs. It’s this un-institutional and flexible approach that makes living in an Integrated Retirement Community such an attractive alternative for people who have the courage to make a move, into a new home, late in life, which has an adaptive support and structure sitting quietly in the background.

Our promise
Considering a move to a retirement community can feel overwhelming. In truth, it is a momentous decision.
Moving in one's 70s or 80s creates additional pressures in practical, logistical and emotional terms. There are also adult children’s concerns to consider, and, at Untold, we empathise with what you or a loved one are grappling with.
Add to this emotional cocktail the fact that there is an understandable fear of being ‘sold to’ through high pressure sales techniques – is it any wonder that people shy away from even picking up the phone?
At Untold we take a different approach...
We do not try to sell, we simply guide. Our aim in the Sales team is to guide prospective residents towards the right outcome for them as an individual. Integrated Retirement Communities are not for everyone and that’s absolutely fine by us, but sometimes they are, and that’s where we can help.
So if you are reading this with a particular situation in mind (you didn’t end up on our website by accident did you?), and, wondering if you should get in contact, here is our promise to you:
- There will be no high pressure sales techniques.
- You are in control. It’s your agenda – at your speed, and, always your decision as to how you do, or don’t want to engage.
- We genuinely want to find out about you as a person, and, your specific circumstances because without knowing these, we cannot serve you well.
- If we don’t think Untold is right for you, we will tell you and suggest alternatives.
- If you want to come to see us you are always very welcome, but we would like to come to see you in your home as well.
- We will listen more than we will talk.
Please, hold us to these promises.
Safety and security
Untold communities are staffed by directly employed teams who play a vital role in maintaining a safe environment. This environment includes both physical and human security measures, emergency response procedures and general wellbeing. Our teams ensure that all residents are provided with prompt assistance, in case of emergencies, accidents or any kind of urgent situation.
Controlled access
A primary safety feature of a retirement village is controlled access. All Untold villages have doors that restrict access to individuals without authorisation. This approach reduces risks of unwanted visitors and by using access cards and key fobs. All entry points are controlled. This approach to 'access control' creates a secure environment for residents, gives peace of mind to relatives and residents, and, creates a sense of exclusivity.
It’s your home, so you decide who comes in.
Community and social interaction
Safety comes in many forms and the sense of community and social engagement that exists within our villages is tangible. Social ‘get-togethers’, clubs, events and outings not only support better mental and physical health but also create a community focused environment, where residents can look out for one another. It’s this mutually supportive context that makes an Integrated Retirement Community such a good option for some people.
Maintenance and accessibility
All Untold communities provide maintenance services to ensure that everything is working and safe. Regular inspections, adaptions and repairs take place throughout the year which means that you don’t have to climb any more ladders or change any more light bulbs – if you don’t want to. Each development has a maintenance manager who can carry out works inside your home, and address accessibility issues should they arise.

Meet the team
Residents are the most important people in an Untold Community, after them come the Operations team. These are the people that run the community on a day to day basis. Whether it’s the Care team, the General Manager or the Chef these are your daily contacts. However there is a management team behind them guiding and running the overall business so here is a little bit about them.
